Subject: 6100 DOS card works in q700!
However, upon closer inspection of the card, its connector looked suspiciously like the connector on my old q700 L2 cache card. So I unplugged the card from the L-connector, took a deep breath, and plugged the thing into the q700. I installed the DOS card software on the q700, and it worked! I used the PC Setup control panel to allocate memory to the DOS card and create a DOS card HD partition, but I haven't had a chance to install DOS & Windows yet. But, the thing works in my q700!
Yes it works I had a 6100 Dos card in my Centris 650. It worked fine. I even had the C650 clock chipped to 37Mhz as well. The only problems I had was it was incompatible with a Nubus video card and Win95 was extremely buggy.
If you have ant questions please e-mail me.
Depends on which generation the DOS card is. You need the 68040 version, not the PowerPC version. With the right version, as you say you remove the bracket and run the cables out the slot in the back of the case and it works fine. I ran it this way for sevral months.

Probably best to keep the entire set of extensions in sync, even if you don't use them all:
Apple CD-ROM
Apple Photo Access
Audio CD Access
Foreign File Access
High Sierra File Access
ISO 9660 File Access
The new audio-cd player works fine with the old extensions, so you don't need to bother doing anything special with that.
